The most common cause of vertigo is something called benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).  Symptoms  are triggered by changes in the position of your head, such as tipping your head up or down, and by lying down, turning over or sitting up in bed. You can also feel out of balance when standing or walking.  Although BPPV can be a unsettling and bothersome, it’s rarely serious except when it increases the chance of falls and it wears on you after awhile.

Some of the other signs and symptoms that can come and go are:
  • Dizziness
  • A sense that your surroundings are spinning or moving
  • Light-headedness
  • Unsteadiness
  • Loss of balance
  • Blurred vision
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
If you experience dizziness along with a new extreme headache, high fever, loss of vision, arm or leg weakness, fainting, chest pain or difficulty speaking please seek medical attention immediately. This may be a stroke not vertigo!
I have a few close friends with vertigo and I can tell you, it's no fun! It often feels like something much more serious. My essential oil solution is called Vertigo & Dizzy by Botanical Delights. It works great and is easy to carry around. The best part? It works fast!
